Pacifica Police Department’s K9 Gambit is set to receive a crucial bullet and stab protective vest, courtesy of a generous donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. Sponsored by the same organization, the vest will bear the heartfelt sentiment “In memory of K9 Hobbs, Des Moines, IA EOW 12/12/23”. Expected to arrive within eight to ten weeks, this essential gear underscores Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.’s commitment to safeguarding the lives of law enforcement’s loyal four-legged companions.

Established in 2009, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has been dedicated to providing protective vests and support to K9 officers across the United States. With over 5,514 vests distributed nationwide, valued at $6.9 million, the organization’s mission is made possible through individual and corporate contributions. Eligible for participation are U.S. law enforcement K9s, aged at least 20 months and certified for active duty, including those with expired vests. Donations of any amount are welcome, with a single contribution of $985 sponsoring one vest, each valued at $1800 and equipped with a five-year warranty.
