Mystic Aquarium celebrated a heartwarming moment as they released Pappardelle, an approximately 1-year-old male harp seal, back into the wild. Pappardelle had initially stranded malnourished and dehydrated in Dartmouth, MA, but thanks to the diligent efforts of the International Fund for Animal Welfare, he was rescued on February 20, 2024, and transferred to Mystic Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Clinic for rehabilitation. Under the care of the dedicated team at Mystic Aquarium, Pappardelle received an individualized treatment plan that enabled him to recover well during rehabilitation, ultimately leading to his successful release back into his natural habitat.
