In a heartwarming display of appreciation and support, Pennoyer School District 79 students recently gathered at the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC to extend their gratitude to a local veteran, who coincidentally works within the school district in Norridge, IL. As Honor Flight Chicago #HFC113 arrived, the students eagerly greeted the veterans with enthusiastic cheers and heartfelt expressions of thanks, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth and admiration. Amidst the chorus of “Thank you for your service,” one veteran, touched by the outpouring of support, responded with a heartfelt sentiment, saying, “Thank you for your love!” This touching exchange exemplifies the profound bond between veterans and their community, reaffirming the importance of honoring those who have selflessly served their country.
